\ncompetition,\u00a0organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment,

\nThe following were amongst the award winners: the prize for the best olive oils \u201cMature and fruity\u201d
\nolive oil, was given to Pago de Valdecuevas<\/a><\/strong> (Grupo Valdecuevas, Valladolid); the prize for the
\n\u201cFruity, sweet and green\u201d category, awarded to O-Med<\/a><\/strong> (Granada); and in the \u201cFruity, green
\nand bitter\u201d section, Oro de C\u00e1nava<\/a><\/strong> (Cooperativa Andaluza Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de los Remedios,
\nJa\u00e9n) was recognised.

The \u201cAlimentos de Espa\u00f1a Best Virgen Olive Oil\u201d Prize<\/h2>\n

The \u201cAlimentos de Espa\u00f1a Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil<\/a><\/strong>\u201d prize is awarded by MAPA (Ministry of
\nAgriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment) with the purpose of re-assessing the quality<\/strong>
\nof Spanish extra virgin olive oils.<\/strong>
\nLast April, the best olive oils that received this recognition were announced. As stated,
\nthe winners were O-Med de Venchipa, S.L.<\/strong>, de \u00c1cula (Granada), Arbequina Pago de<\/strong>
\nValdecuevas<\/strong> Extra Virgin Olive Oil<\/strong>, from Grupo Valdecuevas Agro de Medina de Rioseco
\n(Valladolid) and Oro de C\u00e1nava<\/strong>, from the Cooperativa Andaluza Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de los
\nRemedios, Jimena (Ja\u00e9n).
\nOlive oil is regarded as the star product of Spanish gastronomy<\/strong>, and Spanish EVOOs are
\nunquestionably recognised at an international level as the best in the world.<\/p>\n
